According to records, by 8:30 p.m. on August 29, the display at Tan Son Nhat airport's T3 terminal announced that 12 flights were delayed due to prolonged heavy rain.
The rows of seats in the waiting area were full. Many flights have been delayed for 2-3 hours, but the departure time has not yet been determined.






Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, a passenger traveling to Thanh Hoa, said that his ticket has a scheduled departure time of 6:35 p.m. However, as early as 2:40 p.m., he received a text message informing him that the flight had been delayed until 7 p.m.
The rain team arrived at T3 station at 6pm, Mr. Thang continued to receive additional delay notices until 7:30pm. However, by 8:30 p.m., passengers on this flight had not yet been able to check in.
The staff explained that due to the heavy rain, the plane could not take off safely. We just have to wait, but we don't know when we will be able to fly" - Mr. Thang shared.



Many other passengers were in a similar situation, restless and tired because their plans were overturned.
As of 8:30 p.m., the rain had not shown any signs of stopping, and the flight delay at Tan Son Nhat airport continued.
According to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, this year's September 2 holiday lasts 4 days, the number of passengers passing through Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to increase by about 6% over the same period, an average of 125,000 per day.
During the peak period from August 30 to September 2, the airport is expected to operate about 730 flights departing and arriving per day. On August 30 and September 2 alone, the number of visitors may reach 130,000, an increase of about 12,000 compared to usual.
Currently, all flights of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines have been transferred to Terminal T3 with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year. Meanwhile, Terminal T1 is only operated by VietJet Air.
