On the morning of August 26, at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, many passengers said that the departure procedure system unexpectedly encountered a transmission line problem, causing procedures to be interrupted.
From about 10am, in the departure procedure area, many passengers had to wait in line longer than usual. Some international tourists take the opportunity to rest while waiting for the system to be restored. The delay caused flights to depart, and passengers had to wait on the plane for an entire hour because many passengers had not yet passed the gate to check in.
Airlines must continuously announce, reassure and arrange priority routes for flights close to the schedule. A plan to change flights has also been prepared to minimize risks for passengers.
By noon of the same day, the system gradually recovered, and border gate stalls resumed operation.
On the same day, August 26, according to records at Tan Son Nhat domestic terminal, some flights were also affected due to bad weather. Many passengers said that their flights had to delay their departure time due to thunderstorms, especially on flights from Ho Chi Minh City to the Northern and Central regions.
Airlines said that due to the impact of storm No. 5, some flights to and from Tan Son Nhat had to change their operating plans, affecting the route to many other flights during the day.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires units on duty 24/7, to strengthen coordination and closely monitor storm developments to adjust flight schedules, ensuring safe operations.
