At noon on October 27, on Cao Hong Lanh Street (Hoi An Ward), Mr. Phan Van Lan and his family members were urgently raising their belongings as the floodwaters increased.

Inside the house combined with the coffee shop business, Mr. Phan Van Lan has set up temporary scaffolding to store furniture such as tables and chairs, grinder, and perishable items. Even the refrigerator and mixing stations were carefully checked and raised several meters high to avoid floodwaters.
"The flood water has risen very quickly since this morning, my family has to respond promptly. Thanks to the preparation, there has not been any significant damage. Heavy rain combined with rising floodwaters forced many shops in this area to temporarily close and stop business" - Mr. Lan said.

Located in the low-lying areas of the old town, the Cao Hong Lanh route and neighboring areas such as Bach Dang, Tran Hung Dao, Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa... are now submerged in water.
Ms. Bui Thi Hien (a resident of Hoi An ancient town) - informed that shops and cafes along Cao Hong Lanh street have all closed. Some restaurant owners had to assign 2-3 staff members to be on duty to monitor the water level and promptly move their assets as the water continued to rise.
According to Ms. Hien, since this morning, boats of accommodation establishments and hotels have also been bustling in the old quarter to help move tourists to safety.

According to information from the People's Committee of Hoi An Ward, the flood level at 4:00 a.m. on October 27 in Hoi An was 1.78 m and it is forecasted that in the next 12-24 hours, floods in Hoi An will exceed alert level 3. Local authorities here have deployed warning ropes in deeply flooded and low-lying areas.

Functional forces and police forces of wards are on duty 24/7 in key areas, proactively evacuating people if the water continues to rise. The authorities recommend that people limit travel through deeply flooded areas to ensure safety, prevent accidents and drowning risks.
