On March 3, according to information from the Traffic Police Department of Phu Tho Provincial Police, from February 16 to March 2, functional forces have strengthened patrols and control of waterway vehicles on Hoa Binh Lake.
The traffic police force stopped and controlled 698 vehicles. Through inspection, 38 violations were detected, records of handling were made and decisions on penalties were issued with a total amount of 263.25 million VND.
The main violations are related to vehicle registration, registration and safety conditions of vehicles.
Among them, there are 22 cases of violations of registration regulations; 5 cases of violations of registration regulations; 2 cases of violations related to vehicle registration numbers (not drawing, painting, or attaching registration numbers according to regulations).
In addition, functional forces handled 1 case of violation of regulations on safety equipment and tools; 5 cases of violations of using professional capacity certificates and professional certificates; 3 other violations.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Phu Tho Provincial Police, the strengthening of inspection and handling aims to tighten the management of inland waterway traffic activities, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.
Formed after the construction of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant on the Da River, Hoa Binh Lake has a water surface area of about 8,900 ha, a capacity of billions of cubic meters of water, stretching through many communes and wards of Phu Tho province and Hoa Binh province.
This used to be the largest artificial lake in Vietnam for many years and is still one of the largest reservoirs in the country, playing an important role in power generation, downstream flood cutting, and tourism and aquaculture development.
