According to Lao Dong, on Chu Van An Street (from Binh Hoa 5-way intersection to Phan Chu Trinh Street), many electric poles and cables are still placed in the middle of the road, not only affecting the urban beauty but also posing a risk of collisions for road users, especially in the evening.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hung (residing in Binh Thanh Ward) said: "The road expansion project is under construction but the power pole has not been relocated. I drive on this road and have to observe carefully because it is not easy to collide with traffic. Hopefully, the authorities will handle it so that the project can be completed soon. People move more safely.
Responding to this issue, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) said that Chu Van An Street is in the process of being expanded and upgraded by the Binh Thanh District Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor. Gia Dinh Power Company is a unit under EVNHCMC and has been assigned to coordinate the relocation and re-establishment of the power grid.

During the construction period, Gia Dinh Power Company informed telecommunications and cable television units on the route to renovate and upgrade the information cable system. At the same time, a document was sent to the Binh Thanh District Investment and Construction Project Management Board requesting early coordination in relocating the electric poles located in the middle of the road.
While waiting for handling, the unit also recommends that investors paint reflectors on electric poles to warn and ensure traffic safety.
Currently, Gia Dinh Power Company continues to coordinate with relevant parties to speed up relocation and recommend preventing electrical incidents, to ensure safety for people and create conditions for the road expansion project.
EVNHCMC added that the section from Chu Van An bridge to Dinh Bo Linh street will be undergrounded with the entire power grid. The Ho Chi Minh City Power Grid Project Management Board (under EVNHCMC) is working and is expected to complete by September 2025, bringing the entire power system from the floating grid to the underground. After undergrounding, the grid and existing electric poles will be reclaimed, returning open space to the road surface.

The Chu Van An Street expansion project has a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND, about 600 m long. After completion, the road surface will be expanded to 23 m, along with the drainage system, sidewalks, trees and lighting being also renovated. This is expected to solve the "bottleneck" situation and connect the traffic axis from Dinh Bo Linh to Binh Hoa 5-way intersection smoothly.
