According to some people in the area, early this morning they went to exercise and discovered a large amount of boxes of medicine and functional foods at the garbage collection point in Zone 8, Hong Ha Ward, Ha Long City.
It is possible that the above functional food boxes were dumped at the landfill last night.
As soon as the information was received, at around 8:00 a.m. this morning, the police and the Quang Ninh Department of Health were present at the scene, organizing the collection of items into 13 garbage trucks.
Through preliminary inspection with the naked eye, it was found that these are functional foods, produced at Vietnamese pharmaceutical companies and have expired.
In the immediate future, the authorities will classify them to determine whether they are hazardous waste or not. If any, the handling must comply with strict procedures.
The collection and treatment requires signing a contract with a competent unit to treat waste in accordance with regulations, such as burning or burying it safely. The entire destruction process must be supervised by competent authorities to ensure no environmental pollution is caused.
Currently, the incident is still being investigated and clarified by the authorities of Quang Ninh province.
