According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Van (living in the FLC Complex 36 Pham Hung building), at around 6pm, before it rained, she heard a loud noise accompanied by screams from many people at the pickleball sports field right next to the building.
"When I opened the apartment window, I saw this pickleball court slowly collapsing. Many chants of "run, run" echoed throughout the area" - Ms. Van said.
Regarding the incident, in an interview with Lao Dong, a leader of My Dinh 2 Ward Police said that Pham Hung pickleball court No. 40 was built on project land.
In addition, this land is currently a car parking lot, a goods gathering and pick-up and drop-off point of some bus companies.

A witness at the scene said that thunderstorms with strong winds caused the pickleball court pillars to shake, showing signs of collapsing. Many people quickly ran outside, leaving their belongings in the yard.
"When the pickleball court had its roof blown off and collapsed, everyone had evacuated safely" - the witness said.
