Gia Lai - After many days of being cut off due to damaged roads swept away by floods, many people were excited to receive relief goods.

On November 22, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Chairman of the People's Committee of So Commune, Gia Lai Province - said that after the flood receded, the government and sponsors provided rice to relieve hunger, supporting hundreds of households in Hratch village.

People happily came to receive rice, instant noodles and necessities for daily life. Due to the landslides and damage, everyone had to walk through the stream to receive relief goods and take them home.

According to Mr. Son, the source of necessities from the sponsor helps people stabilize in the short term after many days of being cut off by floods. The commune is continuing to review the damage, proactively implement long-term support plans and restore production for the people.

This support includes 4.25 tons of rice provided to 85 households directly affected by floods. Of which, there are 63 poor households and 22 near-poor households, each household receives 50kg of rice.

In addition, 232 boxes of instant noodles were also given to many households in the village, helping people proactively source food during the days of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Consecutive floods in the days after storm No. 13 have washed away the inter-commune road leading to Hratch village, isolating and isolating 234 households with 1,170 people.

The road was swept away by floodwaters, leaving only a large layer of rock and soil, making it impossible for vehicles to travel.

On the same day, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province also issued Decision 2673/QD-UBND on allocating 2,000 tons of rice from national reserves to localities to provide emergency support to people affected by floods.

In addition, the province supports poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances whose houses are flooded with a level of 2 million VND/household/month, with a support period of 3 months.

The provincial government also supported households whose houses were completely collapsed, whose roofs were completely blown off or whose roofs were damaged or blown off.
