On the morning of November 22, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Minister of National Defense - inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of floods in Gia Lai province.

The delegation visited people in Lac Dien village, Tuy Phuoc Dong commune. Damaged by consecutive floods, Ms. Nguyen Minh Du (residing in Lac Dien village) said: "This flood was so terrible, the waves brought down the house in just a short time. My mother and I were lucky to have evacuated to the neighbor's house before. The entire family's assets were gone, I just hope that the kind arms of support will give me a little heart to rebuild the house."
Checking the house that had completely collapsed, General Phan Van Giang sent words of encouragement, deep sharing and gifts hoping that Ms. Du's family would soon overcome the loss. The Minister also requested the authorities and functional forces to promptly support Ms. Du as well as other affected households to rebuild their residence.

At the flood center of Huynh Mai village, Tuy Phuoc commune, General Phan Van Giang expressed his sympathy for the loss and damage to property that the people here have to endure. The Minister hopes that the people will continue to unite, join hands and help each other overcome difficulties and hardships.

Friendly provinces and Military Region 5 are joining hands to help Gia Lai people in floods and difficulties. These days, the army has sewn clothes, covered their covers, and prepared dry salary to give to the people, encouraged and helped people overcome the historic flood to soon stabilize their socio-economic lives, said General Phan Van Giang.
According to the General, after the flood, many people will repair their houses and works; the Army of the 34th Corps, the Provincial Military Command, and Military Region 5 will mobilize human resources to help the people.

From transporting cement materials, corrugated iron, steel... to workers building houses, soldiers will be present to support, reduce costs, help stabilize the lives of people in flooded areas.
In the flood center, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that people strongly support the policy of evacuating to shelters to ensure safety.
Currently, the province is focusing on overcoming the consequences; the province has decided to allocate 2,000 tons of rice; provide emergency support of 2 million VND/household/month for 3 months to poor, near-poor households and those with special difficulties (about 5,000 households). Cases of collapsed houses and blown-off roofs are supported under the policy of storm No. 13.
On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang presented 50 gifts to people in Huynh Mai village affected by floods; the Military Region 5 Command presented 20 gifts.
In addition, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense supported Gia Lai province with 10 billion VND, 10 tons of dry food, 5,000 sets of clothes, 2,500 double-twin beds, 2,500 single-twin beds. Hanoi City supported Gia Lai province with 50 billion VND to overcome the consequences of floods.
