On the morning of May 26, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Anh Hao - Chairman of Son Kim 1 Commune People's Committee - said that up to this point, the Central Road Project Management Board has completed compensation payments to people.
According to Mr. Hao, the total amount that the investor has paid in this last installment is 2.24 billion VND to 111 households. In which, in Kim Cuong 1 village, there are 43 households; Kim Cuong 2 is 53 households, Ha Trai is 15 households.
The fact that the investor has completed the final payment of compensation to the people makes us very excited. Because, after many years of delayed payment with many missed appointments, people are very upset, and the government is also very struggling to urge and worry about affecting the security and order of the locality," Mr. Hao shared.

As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, in early 2023, during the construction of the Project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 8A through Son Kim 1 commune, houses and works of many households on both sides of the road were cracked.
Discovering cracked houses, people requested the contractor to stop construction, conduct statistics, and compensate for damages.
After that, the investor coordinated with the contractor, insurance agency, local authorities and people to review, statistics, count, and determined that 203 households in Son Kim 1 commune had houses and works affected and calculated the amount to be compensated of nearly 3.2 billion VND.
When proceeding with payment, some households were not satisfied with the compensation level, so they did not receive money. After that, the investor continued to review and agreed with the people to add 2.24 billion VND to complete the final payment of compensation.
Regarding the delay in paying compensation to people, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee has repeatedly issued documents requesting the investor to definitively resolve the payment to people.

Most recently, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee assigned to complete the payment before April 15, 2026. However, the investor missed the deadline, so it was later extended for another month, until May 15.
Regarding the delay in compensation payment, Lao Dong Newspaper has had many news and articles reflecting it. Most recently, the article "Compensation for cracked houses due to National Highway 8A construction: Investors again request extension" was published on May 7.
