This area belongs to the first, second and third bauxite mining sites in Dak Wer and Nghia Thang communes, Dak R'lap district.
This is the land area that TKV has leased to Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee since 2019 to exploit bauxite minerals. TKV assigned Dak Nong Aluminum Company to directly exploit. After completing the exploitation, Dak Nong Aluminum Company planted acacia trees.
The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to take the lead in receiving and handing over the land area on file and in the field. The Dak R'lap District People's Committee is responsible for managing and arranging the use of more than 100 hectares of this land in accordance with planning and regulations.
Previously, in August 2024, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment allowed TKV to return 130 hectares of land after exploiting bauxite in Dak Nong.
The return of land where bauxite has been mined is very meaningful to Dak Nong province. Because bauxite is spread over most of the province, it makes it difficult for the locality to implement other economic and social projects.
This land fund is also very necessary to arrange resettlement and settlement for households affected by site clearance.
Dak Nong has repeatedly requested the Central Government to provide specific instructions on closing bauxite mines in parts to have land funds to carry out other tasks.
