Amidst the mountains, groups of workers take turns, the sound of machinery rumbles, and drills seem to tear apart the mountain.
At That Khe tunnel, after determining the location and drilling the first drill to open the tunnel in mid-October, the construction unit is deploying 4 construction drills continuously in 3 shifts/day. Reinforcement is carried out as the tunnel is dug, ensuring construction safety, labor safety and the critical path according to the plan.
In addition, construction sites such as Km56+200, Na Pa hamlet, Duc Xuan commune; mountain tunnel No. 2 - Dong Khe tunnel, Ban Neng hamlet, Thuy Hung commune (Thach An); Km79+600 Na Da hamlet, Hoa Thuan town and Km85+700 Ban Tin hamlet, Lung Tao, Hanh Phuc commune (Quang Hoa)... are also being synchronously deployed.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan - Deputy General Director of Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Joint Stock Company said: "Currently, on the handed over site, the contractor is organizing 18 construction teams with 467 personnel and nearly 200 locomotives and equipment. Human resources and machinery are working day and night."
On December 5, directly inspecting the construction site of the No. 1 mountain tunnel - That Khe Tunnel, located in Chi Minh Commune, Trang Dinh District (Lang Son), Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh also requested the construction units to promptly overcome difficulties and problems related to earth fill mines, construction material mines, relocation of technical infrastructure, site clearance, and resettlement to serve the project.
The Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee also requested the Party Committees and authorities of the two districts of Thach An and Quang Hoa to soon stabilize housing for people in the resettlement area, ensuring that the new housing is better and more spacious than the old housing, with the determination to open the route by the end of 2025, and complete the entire project in 2026.
The Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project is 121 km long, passing through Lang Son and Cao Bang. This project is divided into two investment phases, with phase 1 currently being implemented, including the construction of a highway over 93 km long.
The total investment of the project is more than 14,100 billion VND in the form of PPP, of which the state budget accounts for 69%.
The sections over bridges and tunnels have 4 complete lanes, the main road has 2 lanes. The investor also cleared the land according to the scale of 4 complete lanes.
Up to now, the project's site clearance has reached 93.6%, of which the section through Cao Bang province has reached 99% and the section through Lang Son province has reached 90%.
The two provinces are unanimous in striving to hand over 100% of the project site by the end of December.
