On October 4, at Long Son Pagoda, Tay Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, the National Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to organize a grand ceremony to pray for super-victims who died in traffic accidents.
More than 1,000 monks and nurses, families of people who died in traffic accidents across the country attended.
According to the National Traffic Safety Committee, in Vietnam, nearly 30 people die from traffic accidents every day.
The number of people injured in traffic accidents leaves many serious sequelae, becoming a nightmare for each person, a burden for families and society.
Victims of traffic accidents are not only the pain of each victim's family but also a common loss of the whole society.
With the spirit of "Remembering those who go - For those who stay", the super-praying ceremony aims to commemorate the people who unfortunately passed away due to traffic accidents.
Thereby, conveying a message to all people about traffic safety, to avoid great loss and damage caused by traffic accidents.
According to Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu - Permanent Vice President of the Central Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the super-praying ceremony took place over 2 days, wishing for the victims' souls to be saved.
The program also calls on everyone to value life, be more aware of participating in traffic and work with the community to build a peaceful and civilized traffic lifestyle.
