Lao Cai - Many landslides and subsidence locations on the Sa Pa airport bypass road make travel difficult for people.

On the afternoon of October 21, according to information from the People's Committee of Cam Con commune (Bao Yen district), on Provincial Road 151C, the section avoiding Sa Pa airport, in the commune, a series of landslides and subsidence points appeared, affecting people's movement.

These landslides appeared a month ago due to the impact of prolonged heavy rains. After that, the flood water on the Red River continued to rise, causing the landslide area to spread.

According to statistics, just the section through the resettlement area of Sa Pa airport has 4 landslides, with a volume of more than 1,000m3 of earth and rock; the largest landslide section is more than 50m long.

It is known that this is a new route running along the Red River to replace the old Provincial Road 151C, the section through Cam Con commune is being constructed to serve the travel of people in the resettlement area of Sa Pa airport and neighboring areas.

Because the landslides are mostly located on the negative slope, remediation is difficult.

Local authorities have warned and informed people to limit travel on this route to ensure safety.
