On February 15, at Dong Nai Thuong Lake Park (Bao Loc Lake), Bao Loc City People's Committee coordinated with the City Flower arranged the opening ceremony of the 2nd Bao Loc City Flower Competition to expand nationwide in 2025.
The contest took place with the theme "color of Vietnam's orchids - Solidarity and Development", to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bao Loc Liberation Day (March 28, 1975 - March 28, 2025).

The contest brings together more than 400 associations, clubs, and artists of orchid and flower fields from Bao Loc city and many provinces and cities across the country such as Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Dak Lak, Can Tho, Tay Ninh, Hue, etc.
Speaking at the contest, Ms. Vo Thi Thu Nga - Vice Chairman of Bao Loc City People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized that orchids not only have aesthetic value but also have great economic potential.
In Bao Loc city, the produced and traded orchids have developed towards high-tech agriculture, contributing to increasing people's income.

Currently, the whole city has about 250 households growing orchids on a total area of nearly 60 hectares, mainly hybrid forest orchids.
More than 100 orchids are being produced, traded domestically and exported, opening up opportunities to make orchids a key economic sector.
In the coming time, Bao Loc city will continue to support and encourage the development of the orchard growing sector. In particular, combining scientific research to enhance commercial value, building the Bao Loc Lotus brand in the international market.

The contest is an opportunity for artisans and gardeners to exchange and share experiences in planting and caring for orchid flowers with high economic value. The event also contributes to promoting the flower brand, connecting with the tourism industry, attracting domestic and international tourists.
This year's contest brings together more than 1,200 unique wild sunflowers in 8 categories: Forest Lan, Catleya, Lan Dendrobium, Lan Son, Lan Hai, Lan Dendro Chuc, Lan Thuong and Lan Lam.
The works are rare nests from nature or have been brewed, showing off their brilliant colors with red, yellow, purple, pink, white, orange, green...

Among them, there are many large-scale works with hundreds of blooming branches and twings, creating a strong aesthetic impression. The contest attracted a large number of people and tourists who love orchid to visit and enjoy.
From more than 1,200 entries, the Organizing Committee will select 114 outstanding entries to award.
These include 1 Special Prize, 8 First Prizes, 15 Second Prizes, 24 Third Prizes and 66 Encouragement Prizes, with a total prize value of 96 million VND.
