According to information from the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC), due to the impact of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) causing heavy rain and strong winds over a wide area, many areas in the Central and Central Highlands have had serious incidents on the power grid, causing more than 1.6 million customers to lose power.
According to statistics, by the morning of November 7, the entire Central Power Corporation recorded 427 incidents and discharges of the medium-voltage power grid due to the impact of the storm, of which 53 cases had been restored, and 374 cases are still being handled.
The total number of customers with power outages is 1,603,637, 315,016 customers have been restored, with 1,288,612 customers remaining, accounting for 26.1% of the total number of customers in EVNCPC.
The total number of power outages at distribution transformer stations is 18,722, 3,674 stations have been restored, while 15,048 stations (accounting for 26.17%), with an estimated loss of 655 MW.
On the 110kV power grid, there were 31 incidents, causing power outages at many transformer stations. In Gia Lai, 13/30 stations (42%) were affected, including Quy Nhon, Long My, Van Canh, Nhon Hoi, Phuoc Son, Dong Da, Quy Nhon Port, Nhon Tan, Tay Son, Don Pho, An Khe, K'Bang, Krong Pa. In Dak Lak, there are 4/26 stations (18%) including Tuy An, Song Cau, Song Cau 2, Dong Xuan.
Immediately after the storm weakened, EVNCPC directed its affiliated Power Companies to mobilize all shock forces, coordinate with local authorities, focus on fixing incidents, isolating damaged areas and restoring power to priority loads such as hospitals, disaster prevention command agencies, communication, domestic water supply, etc.
The Central Power Corporation said it is continuing to mobilize human resources and materials from less affected areas to support the severely damaged area, striving to restore power supply as soon as possible, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment.
