After 5 days of the General Director and the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) launching a donation campaign among all employees, the total amount of support reached more than 5.1 billion VND.
The campaign was deployed at 20 affiliated grassroots trade union organizations, including 17 member units and 3 units with contributed capital, with more than 11,740 employees participating.
Many units have high contributions, in which Da Nang Power Company, Dak Lak Power Company and Gia Lai Power Company each contributed over 750 million VND; Quang Ngai Power Company contributed nearly 600 million VND.
According to the launch, each worker contributes a day's salary. The donations were transferred by the units to the Corporation's Trade Union Support Fund for EVNCPC to synthesize and send to Vietnam Electricity Group, to support people in the Central and Northern provinces to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods and help the Cuban people.
In addition, through the Red Cross Society of localities, many Power Companies have also proactively donated hundreds of millions of VND directly to the Cuban people, typically Quang Tri Power Company with 205 million VND, Dak Lak Power Company with nearly 167 million VND, Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company with 162 million VND. Khanh Hoa Power Company, through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province, also donated more than 235 million VND, raising the total contribution of units in EVNCPC to nearly 769 million VND.
Along with that, many individuals in the Corporation have also voluntarily contributed and supported the Cuban people and people affected by storms and floods. These activities demonstrate the proactive, responsible and affectionate spirit of workers in the Central Power Sector in social security work for work.
Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of EVNCPC, said: "Recently, people in the North Central and Northern provinces have suffered heavy damage caused by storms and floods; in addition, the Cuban people are also facing many difficulties, so each day's salary contribution is a heart shared, a noble gesture expressing the spirit of mutual love of EVNCPC employees with international compatriots and friends".
It is known that from the beginning of 2025 to now, the Central Power Corporation has spent over 11.6 billion VND on social security activities in the area, including: 5.9 billion VND to build gratitude houses; 243 million VND for the program "Lighting up the countryside"; supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and more than 4.11 billion VND for programs to support the poor, students, policy families, orphans, poor patients...
The entire amount was taken from the welfare fund, mutual support fund and contributions from EVNCPC staff and employees.
