On the afternoon of January 26, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security had statistics on the results of handling alcohol concentration violations under the direction of the Director of the Traffic Police Department on January 25.
According to statistics, traffic police in 34/34 localities have organized alcohol concentration checks for vehicle drivers during two peak hours from 11:00-14:00 and 7:00-24:00 on January 25.
As a result, functional forces controlled 62,030 vehicles, including: 2,403 passenger cars, 3,726 trucks, 11,525 cars, 45,002 motorbikes, 314 specialized cars, 1,656 rudimentary vehicles and other vehicles.
Through inspection, traffic police discovered and made records of handling 2,527 cases of alcohol concentration violations, including 4 truck drivers, 41 cars, 2,413 motorbikes and 69 rudimentary vehicles and other means of transport.
Along with alcohol concentration violations, the traffic police force also handled many other violations, such as: no driver's license (906 cases), no vehicle registration (657 cases), drugs in the body (1 case), no rearview mirrors (93 cases), swerving, swerving (1 case)...
Through this, functional forces temporarily seized 2,527 vehicles, revoked 252 driver's licenses according to regulations. During peak hours from 7:00 PM - 12:00 PM, no traffic accidents related to alcohol concentration occurred.
The Traffic Police Department said that right on the morning of the 1st day of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo, the national traffic police force will continue to simultaneously check alcohol concentration. The deployment of control on the same topic, at the same time nationwide, will be carried out regularly and continuously, even during holidays and Tet, in order to gradually form and consolidate the habit of "if you drink alcohol or beer, don't drive" in the community.
