On the last day of the Tet holiday, major international airports such as Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai and Da Nang welcomed a sharp increase in the number of takeoffs and landings.
At Tan Son Nhat, the number of flights reached 978 (February 2, the 5th day of Tet), Noi Bai welcomed 570 flights (February 2) and Da Nang recorded 269 flights (February 2).
"With close coordination between aviation units, meteorological agencies and functional agencies, flight operations during Tet were stable and safe. The information, navigation and flight monitoring systems were maintained stably and smoothly, contributing significantly to reducing the situation of aircraft having to wait at airports with high flight density," said a VATM representative.
In addition to ensuring flight operations, VATM has also focused on ensuring security and safety at aviation facilities during the Tet holiday. The forces on duty have strictly implemented the tasks of protection, patrolling, guarding, and maintaining labor discipline, ensuring order and safety at agencies and units.
It is forecasted that in the coming days, the number of flights at major airports such as Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat will continue to increase due to the travel demand of people after the Tet holiday. VATM is committed to continuing to ensure safety and stability for flights during the peak period of Tet At Ty.
