The floodwaters from upstream flooded in large numbers and prolonged rain, causing many serious landslides on the banks of An Luong village, Duy Nghia commune.
The strong water was driving deep into the foot of the embankment, directly threatening a residential area with about 500 households. In the face of an urgent situation, the Da Nang City Military Command deployed rescue forces that night.

On the night of November 18 and early morning of November 19, as soon as receiving the news from the locality, the Commander of the City Military Command immediately urgently mobilized more than 300 officers and soldiers from agencies and units; at the same time, he requested Military Region 5 to increase the force of Division 315. Less than 1 hour later, more than 500 officers and soldiers marched overnight to approach the scene.
Previously, the city's Military Command coordinated with local forces to reinforce more than 500m of embankment. However, upstream floods combined with prolonged rain have caused many areas of land to continue to erode, and flood waters have risen, directly threatening residential areas. The armed forces urgently deploy rescue plans and control each vulnerable point to protect people's lives and property.

Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, said that the on-site forces, including the militia and self-defense forces of the PTKV 5 - Dien Ban Command and units under the City Military Command, were mobilized that night.
"First of all, we must keep the embankment tonight, not let the waves hit and cause more landslides, tomorrow we will continue to keep it strong and gradually stabilize it in the coming time," Colonel Ich emphasized.
In emergency conditions, the forces divided into many teams, closely following each weak embankment section, transporting soil bags, and erecting temporary reinforced steel baskets. With almost no time to rest, officers and soldiers only have time to eat bread and drink stream water to maintain their strength.
Each meter of shore is maintained with the spirit of responsibility, determination and continuous efforts of the armed forces, accompanying the government and people of An Luong village.
Mr. Ngo Van Hai, Head of An Luong village, acknowledged and thanked the spirit of the soldiers: "Although that night, comrades marched here to support the people to reinforce the embankment".
Currently, the forces are still maintaining their numbers, continuing to check and reinforce more sections of the embankment at risk of landslides. The Da Nang Military Command is closely coordinating with local authorities and functional agencies to comprehensively assess the risk, propose long-term solutions for works and pilots to protect the safety of An Luong people against increasingly extreme weather developments.
