Achieving about 70% of the plan
By mid-March 2025, the whole province of Quang Binh had started construction and renovated more than 1,000 houses for poor households, contributing to stabilizing people's lives.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Binh province, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province has reached about 70% of the plan. Accordingly, up to now, about 1,081 houses have been newly built or renovated, of which 261 have been completed and put into use.
To implement the program, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated a budget of more than 71.37 billion VND, organizations and individuals contributed more than 1.28 billion VND and 1,210 working days from the local community.
Mr. Dinh Tien Nhat (Quy Dat town, Minh Hoa district) is one of the households receiving support this time.
Due to difficult circumstances, the old house has deteriorated, Mr. Nhat emotionally shared: I am very happy and pleased to receive attention. The support money helps me have more conditions to build a new house that has been damaged for many years."

His new house is being built right next to the old house, the foundation is gradually completed. This is not only his family's joy but also his hope for a more stable life.
In addition to support from the government, Mr. Nhat also received help from the neighborhood.
"This makes me extremely moved, because not only with a new house but I also feel the sharing and protection of the community. I hope this program will continue to help many other disadvantaged households, so that everyone has a solid and steady home in the face of storms and floods" - Mr. Nhat was moved.
Joining hands for the goal of settling down for the people
To support the people, the Quang Binh Provincial Police have called on benefactors to contribute 500 million VND and 150 tons of cement to support Tuyen Hoa district. At the same time, the police force is also surveying the actual needs of each household to support more household items when the new houses are handed over.
Along with the program, union members and youth of the Provincial Police have established 171 volunteer teams, contributing 356 working days to dismantle and transport construction materials. In addition, the Standing Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Youth Union also mobilized more than 3,500 working days, contributing to the repair and construction of houses for poor and near-poor households in the area.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also supported hundreds of millions of VND to many households in especially difficult circumstances.
According to the plan, Quang Binh province strives to complete the temporary house removal program before June 30, 2025. Minh Hoa district alone aims to complete before September 2025.
Quang Binh province requires authorities at all levels to implement more drastically, ensuring the progress and quality of the project. The program Steering Committee needs to "clear people, work, responsibilities, time, and results", while strengthening inspection and supervision to ensure transparent and appropriate funding sources for use.
Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang emphasized that the success of the program helps people stabilize their lives. Therefore, no matter how difficult it is, with all the enthusiasm and responsibility, the Party Committee and people of the whole province must definitely complete the set plan.
The temporary house removal program not only brings sustainable houses, but also spreads the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, contributing to creating stronger communities in the future.
