Nhon Trach Bridge, the largest package of component project 1A of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, is entering the final stages of completion. The project is expected to be temporarily opened to traffic from August 19, contributing to connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai, reducing pressure on the Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
Nhon Trach Bridge has a total length of about 2.6km, with a roadbed width of 20.526m, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 mixed lanes. The bridge is designed with 39 pillars and 2 abutments, the main part uses a structure of 5 pillars - 4 spans, a clearance of 30.5m, allowing ships with a load capacity of up to 5,000 DWT to travel through the Dong Nai River.

With a total investment of VND1,800 billion, this is the main and largest package of component project 1A, belonging to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. Component project 1A has a total length of 8.22km (the section through Ho Chi Minh City is 1.92km long, the section through Dong Nai is 6.3km long) with a total investment of more than VND 6,955 billion.

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction, investor of component project 1A) as of the end of July 2025, the total construction volume of the bridge package has reached 99.76%. The remaining items are mainly asphalt paving, installing lighting systems, expansion joints, median strips and completing the traffic safety system. It is expected that all will be completed before July 31.

At both ends of the bridge, directional signs, lighting systems, speed signs... have been basically installed. On the bridge surface, many workers are completing the auxiliary items to be ready to open to traffic on schedule.
The approach roads at both ends of the bridge are about 6km long, part of the CW2 package, and have currently completed about 95.14% of the volume. The remaining volume will be completed before July 31, 2025.

Component project 1A is expected to be temporarily operated from August 19, 2025, with the main route having completed the roadbed. However, branches A, D, E connecting to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway are under construction, expected to be completed in December 2025. During the waiting period, vehicles will temporarily pass through the 300m long road.
Dong Nai will organize 2 car lanes and 2 mixed lanes from Provincial Road 25B to Nhon Trach Bridge. Motorbikes can only go from 25B to Ly Tu Trong Street. The intersections at 25B, DT.769 and Ly Tu Trong will have signs and traffic lights.
On the Ho Chi Minh City side, cars will travel from Nhon Trach Bridge to the highway. The maximum speed is 80km/h, but trucks over 1.5 tons and passenger cars over 16 seats are temporarily not allowed to travel, due to no turning point.
From the end of 2026, when the entire route is completed, Ring Road 3 will operate according to expressway standards, with a maximum speed of 100km/h. Nhon Trach Bridge will have 2 lanes for motor vehicles (80km/h) and 2 mixed lanes (60km/h), with a median strip between the two lanes.

When put into operation, Nhon Trach Bridge will directly connect Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, shortening travel time. The completion of the project also promotes inter-regional traffic in the Southeast provinces, while sharing the pressure on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, the route has not yet been expanded.
