The ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition of the district meeting the New Rural Standards in 2023 was solemnly held in Hung Nguyen town with the participation of leaders of the Central Government, Nghe An province and a large number of people in the district.
On this occasion, Hung Nguyen District Party Committee also officially launched the book "History of Hung Nguyen District Party Committee for the period 1930 - 2025".
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De praised the outstanding results of Hung Nguyen district after more than 10 years of efforts to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Development.
From a plain district with many difficulties, Hung Nguyen has mobilized more than VND 4,090 billion to invest in infrastructure construction, improving people's lives, with a voluntary contribution of nearly VND 1,060 billion from the people.
Up to now, the district has 17/17 communes meeting NTM standards, of which 4 communes have achieved advanced new rural areas, 1 commune reached NTM model; The town meets civilized urban standards. The growth rate in 2024 reached 18.6%, the average income per capita increased from VND 15.9 million (2010) to VND 55 million; The rate of poor households decreased from 14.9% to 1.2%.
The whole district has 1,340km of hardened traffic routes; 100% of health stations meet national standards; the rate of people participating in health insurance is over 93%. The high-tech agricultural model is deployed on more than 6,500 hectares of productive land, accounting for more than 56% of the district's area. VSIP Industrial - Urban - Service Park operates effectively with 34 projects, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers.
The district also pays special attention to building cultural and sports institutions at the grassroots level, taking care of the living environment and bright - green - clean - beautiful rural landscape. Cultural and sports movements are maintained regularly, creating a vibrant and close local cultural identity.
At the ceremony, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded the Certificate of Recognition of District Standards for NTM and Certificates of Merit to outstanding collectives and individuals. Hung Nguyen District People's Committee also commended many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building new rural areas.
In particular, the book "History of the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee for the period 1930 - 2025" was published, recreating the 95-year journey of formation and development of the District Party Committee. The project is not only a valuable document but also a foundation for traditional education, fostering confidence, pride and aspiration to contribute to today's and future generations.
The Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee suggested that Hung Nguyen continue to maintain and improve the quality of NTM criteria, pay attention to social security, employment, digital transformation, sustainable agricultural development and preserving cultural identity. Strive to build communes after the arrangement to become advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, contributing to making Hung Nguyen develop worthy of being a land of excellent people, connecting Vinh urban area and Dong Nam Economic Zone.
