On September 8, according to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Hai Phong City, as of 12:00 on September 8, the city had 2 deaths (1 in Tien Lang district, 1 in Thuy Nguyen district); 40 people were injured at home due to broken glass and falling metal roofs, and were given first aid at district and county medical centers.

Working all night to help people, racing to restore power and internet
To overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, all sectors and localities mobilized all forces to search and rescue and overcome the consequences caused by the storm.
Many units have deployed 100% of their staff and soldiers in the area, along with equipment and vehicles, day and night to help overcome the consequences of the storm.
Vietnam Electricity (EVN) said that super typhoon Yagi swept through many northern provinces and the capital Hanoi, causing many power grid problems.
As of 11pm on September 7, the number of customers without power due to the storm was quite high. Of which, Quang Ninh had over 95% of customers without power; Hai Phong over 95%, Bac Giang about 70%, Ha Nam about 30%, Nam Dinh about 34%, Phu Tho 20%... In the capital Hanoi alone, the leader of Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) said that some areas had fallen trees pressing on power lines and substations, leading to power outages.
To fix the power problem as quickly as possible, EVNHANOI has arranged more than 3,000 staff members to be on duty, ready to fix problems and damage caused by the storm, and promptly deploy response measures to quickly fix and ensure continuous and stable power supply for people.
By the morning of September 8, Hung Yen Electricity had restored all power lines and 110kV transformer stations, 5/6 large capacity transformer stations supplying power to the flooded pumping station pumping water from the fields to the Red River and Luoc River, operating normally, and the unit proactively resolved medium-voltage and low-voltage incidents.
In Thai Binh, on the morning of September 8, the power supply situation in Thai Binh with the 110kV grid has been completely restored; the medium voltage grid has restored 39 lines, currently 85 lines are still being processed. Currently, 9/24 pumping stations have been powered up. Thai Binh Electricity is focusing on prioritizing the power supply to pumping stations as soon as possible.
Particularly in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, because these are the two localities that suffered heavy damage from storm No. 3, up to now, the electricity industry's shock forces have not been able to fully measure the damage along the entire power line.
It is expected that by the end of September 8, Hai Phong will restore power supply to about 60-70%; priority will be given to important loads, industrial zones... "We have also established shock teams in localities, so that when needed, we can support the power supply to people as soon as possible," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Thien.
Statistics show that after the storm, tens of thousands of trees fell in Hanoi, of which 500 fell onto the road. In Thai Binh, no casualties or damage to boats were recorded after Typhoon No. 3 Yagi. Only a few houses, factories, offices, and schools had their roofs blown off and trees were broken and uprooted. The total initial damage was estimated at about 2,000 billion VND.
Efforts to ensure smooth communication
A representative of Viettel network said that in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, telecommunications infrastructure was affected after the storm, causing many areas to be unable to ensure communication. To overcome this situation, Viettel and Mobifone have completed their coordination to deploy a free mobile roaming service.
With this coordination, subscribers of other mobile networks can be automatically connected to make calls and send SMS messages on Viettel's infrastructure in areas where that mobile network has information interruptions and vice versa.
A representative of the VinaPhone network also said that the unit has implemented roaming in some districts in the two provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong to ensure services in heavily affected areas. Serious landslide on National Highway 15C to Muong Lat border district
Although storm No. 3 did not directly affect Thanh Hoa, its circulation caused heavy rain, damaging many properties, houses, and roads in this locality.
On September 8, information from the People's Committee of Muong Lat district said that due to the impact of storm No. 3, a lot of damage had been caused to the locality. In particular, on the morning of September 8, a section of National Highway 15C (through Na Tao village, Pu Nhi commune, Muong Lat district) suffered serious subsidence and landslides. The eroded negative slope was about 50m long and was spreading.
After the incident, the authorities put up warning ropes and arranged for people to be on duty to ensure the safety of vehicles and people passing through. It is known that Muong Lat district is still experiencing rain, with the potential risk of landslides and flash floods.
