The Provincial Road 120C project (Yen Chau - Ta Khoa) was approved by the People's Committee of Son La province under Decision No. 562/QD-UBND dated March 13, 2025, with a total investment of 700 billion VND.
The project to build provincial road 120C is more than 34km long, connecting from sub-area 2 (Yen Chau town, old Yen Chau district) to Ta Do village (ta Khoa commune, old Bac Yen district) connecting the area of the two old districts of the province, Yen Chau and Bac Yen.
The People's Committee of Son La province assigned the old Yen Chau district People's Committee to be the investor of the project in the area (from Km0+00 to Km16+200) - a total investment of 312.7 billion VND; assigned the old Bac Yen district People's Committee to be the investor of the project area in the area (from Km 16+200 to Km34+200) - a total investment of more than 376 billion VND.
For the section of the route in the old Yen Chau district, from June 29, 2025, the People's Committee of this district has organized the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction packages (packages 13, 14, 15) have all completed the selection of contractors before the end of the operation of the district-level administrative unit.
For the section of the route in the old Bac Yen district, after the two-level local government model came into operation, the project was transferred to the People's Committee of Ta Khoa commune as the investor (ta Khoa commune was established on the basis of the arrangement of 3 communes: Muong Khoa, Hua Nhan and Ta Khoa old).
According to the reporter's investigation, out of the total 3 construction packages of the project (packages 25, 26, 27), Package 27 (XL): Construction and installation of 03 with an estimated price of nearly 124 billion VND has just completed the contractor selection work.
Accordingly, Tien Anh Construction and Trading Company Limited was approved to win Package No. 27 with a price of more than 123.6 billion VND. This contractor will construct and install the section from Km28+504 to Km34+324.
For Package No. 25 (XL): Construction and installation No. 01 (section from Km16+00 to Km20+800) and Package No. 26 (XL): Construction and installation No. 02 (section from Km20+800 to Km28+200) although the bid has been opened, the results have not been approved.
Provincial Road 120C is designed with a minimum roadbed width of 6.5m, road surface of 3.5m, sidewalks on each side of 1.5m (fortified on each side with a minimum structure of 1m like the road shirt); the section within the urban area is built according to the approved plan.
The works on the route are built permanently and in accordance with the scale of the route, traffic safety systems and other auxiliary construction items in accordance with actual conditions.
The project is invested with the goal of creating convenient inter-regional traffic connections, breaking the monopoly of National Highway 37, shortening travel distances, meeting people's needs in traveling, exchanging, exchanging goods and promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the old Yen Chau and Bac Yen districts in particular and in Son La province in general.
