The La bridge is located on Tan Ha road (DDT.87) part of the urban road system of Tuyen Quang city, which was seriously damaged by landslides after a heavy rain in late June 2024.
This project has completely eroded the entire quarter of the bridge, encroaching deep into the foundation and foundation of Tan Ha road with a length of the landslide along the road of 15 m, the width of the bridge to the riverbank is about 35 m and about 12 m deep.
Faced with the danger of the incident, on July 27, 2024, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province issued Decision 786 announcing a natural disaster emergency to respond to and overcome the damage to the "La" bridge. However, up to now, after 8 months of being declared an emergency situation for repair, the "La" bridge is still almost intact.
Recorded at the time of March 26, at the two ends of the La bridge, a notice was issued prohibiting trucks over 2.5 tons from traveling through the area. A part of the roadway has warning signs to prevent large vehicles from circulating.
Meanwhile, at the landslide site, there were no construction activities or machinery gathered at the foot of the project. The landslide area was covered with tarpaulins, and some of the construction materials gathered at the foot of the bridge were exposed by the landslide.
Regularly traveling through this area, Mr. Tran Van Toi (Yen Son district) said: "My house is more than 1km from the bridge, but since the beginning of the bridge, there has been a barrier to make travel a bit inconvenient, my truck is 3.5 tons, so I have to go around nearly 5km to get into the city".
Households living near the "La" bridge area are worried because the landslide occurred more than 8 months ago, but the repair work is very slow, and construction has only recently started. If prolonged, it will affect traffic safety and inconvenience when there are only a few months left until the rainy season.
According to the reporter's research, the emergency repair project for the landslide of the "La" bridge after some adjustments has an investment of about more than 2 billion VND. The Tuyen Quang City Construction Investment Project Management Board is assigned as the investor. The construction unit is Road Joint Stock Company 232.
Talking with reporters, Ms. Ma Thi Tam - Director of the Tuyen Quang City Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that due to difficult capital sources, the city has recently arranged capital to overcome the situation. The project was started in mid-February and is expected to be completed in June 2025.
