On April 29, at Huu Nghi international border gate, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province and the People's Government of Xiangxi (China) jointly held a ceremony to announce a 2-day, 1-night tourism program for tourists using travel documents.
The event aims to concretize the general statement of the meeting to meet in early spring 2025 between the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Quang Ninh provinces (Vietnam) and the Secretary of the Guangxi Ethnic Autonomous Region Committee (China), as well as the contents from the Conference of the Combined Working Committee, promoting cross -border tourism cooperation between the two sides.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, emphasized that the friendly cooperative relationship between Lang Son and Guangxi is increasingly developing comprehensively and substantially.
In the tourism sector, the two sides have implemented many promotional activities, connecting routes, improving service quality, and gradually increasing the number of visitors crossing the border.
The new tourism program allows Vietnamese tourists to use travel documents to visit Xiangtsui, Guangxi (China) and Chinese tourists to experience tourist attractions in Lang Son province (Vietnam).
This is considered a breakthrough in bilateral cooperation, not only creating favorable conditions for tourists to explore the culture, cuisine and landscapes of both sides, but also promoting people-to-people exchanges and socio-economic development, especially in the fields of services, trade and tourism in border areas.
Mr. Nguyen Dang An said that in the coming time, Lang Son will continue to closely coordinate with Chinese partners to improve the quality of cross-border tourism activities, creating a premise to promote service tourism, contributing to the common development of both sides.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Vu Hieu Huy, Secretary of the Bang Tuong Town Party Committee ( guangxi, China) highly appreciated the effective coordination between authorities, the support of the tourism business community and the people of the two localities.
He said that Thi Bang Tuong will continue to cooperate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, linking tourism policies of the two countries, promoting the formation of the Bang Tuong (China) - Van Lang (Vietnam) cross-border tourism cooperation zone.
According to Mr. Huy, the travel program with a passport is not only a new tourism product but also a vivid symbol of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China, and at the same time a strategy to effectively exploit the potential of border tourism, making a practical contribution to the socio-economic development of each side.
Before the 2-day, 1-night travel program using a passport as mentioned was implemented, traveling between Lang Son (Vietnam) and Hang tung (Weshen, China) according to the popular model would require one of two main types of documents including a border entry and exit passport and a common passport with a Chinese visa.
