According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the whole province welcomed over 212,330 visitors (up 1.2% over the same period in 2024), with estimated revenue reaching 181.3 billion VND (up 2.4% over the same period).
In particular, this year's holiday recorded an "explosion" of international visitors when the number of visitors increased by 41% compared to the same period with over 36,000 visitors.
The 5-day holiday, combined with beautiful weather, is a favorable condition to attract visitors to experience community culture, local festivals, resort tourism, and enjoy ethnic cuisine in tourist areas and destinations in Yen Bai province.
The average room occupancy rate at accommodation facilities is 65%. In particular, accommodation facilities in localities such as Nghia Lo town, Tram Tau district, Mu Cang Chai, Yen Binh, Van Chan have reached 90% - 95% of room occupancy.





As the cradle of Thai culture, this year Nghia Lo town continues to mark as the locality that welcomes the highest number of tourists in the province with 71,200 visitors (accounting for 33.5%). Next is Van Chan district with 24,300,000 visitors (accounting for 11.5%); Van Yen district welcomed 23,700 (accounting for 11.2%); Luc Yen district welcomed 22,790 visitors (accounting for 10.7%); Mu Cang Chai district welcomed 22,500 visitors (accounting for 10.6%).
Activities and destinations chosen by tourists include: Experience the cultural values of the Thai, H'Mong, Dao communities; experience paragliding "flying on scenic spots" during the monsoon season; experience Mong people's terraced rice cultivation art; experience the cultural identities of the highland people and explore and trekking at Ta Xua peak, Ta Xua waterfall, Khau Chu doi waterfall, Ta Chi Nhu peak, Hang De Cho waterfall; explore Thac Ba Lake National Tourist Area...



According to the assessment of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai, during this year's holiday, tourist areas, destinations and tourism service businesses focus on innovating, improving the quality of tourism products and services, renovating the green landscape of the destination to be clean and beautiful, safe, building highlights to serve visitors, taking photos.
Restaurants serving tourists and accommodation establishments in the area ensure conditions for welcoming guests, listing prices, selling publicly, improving service quality, ensuring food hygiene and safety, meeting the needs of tourists for eating, accommodation, and sightseeing.
With positive signals in the first quarter of 2025 and taking advantage of peak times to promote the image with many special event chains to enhance the experience of tourists, Yen Bai is striving to build and maintain the image of a "Safe, attractive, unique, impressive" destination, striving to achieve the goal of welcoming 2 million visitors, of which international visitors will reach 300,000; revenue is estimated at 1,700 billion VND in 2025.
