Empty-handed after the flood
The historic flood has passed for nearly 10 days, the worries and sorrows are still on the faces of farmers in D'ran commune. They are heartbroken because the entire construction enterprise has been swept away by the fierce flood.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh's family (Quang Lac village, D'ran commune) runs a grocery store. Before the flash flood, his family imported goods worth hundreds of millions of VND to sell.

"There is no land for production, so income depends entirely on grocery stores, but the floodwaters have washed away everything. The house they were living in was also completely destroyed by floodwaters. The flood has passed, now there are only two empty hands left," Mr. Minh said sadly.
Faced with the family's difficulties, immediately after the natural disaster, many organizations and benefactors came to encourage and support the family with necessities... to stabilize their lives. D'ran commune has supported 40 million VND for Mr. Minh's family to rebuild a new house.

In the same situation was the family of Mr. Tran Van Phu (Quang Lac village) when the flood completely collapsed the level 4 house and swept away more than 1.5 hectares of crops.
According to Mr. Phu, his house is only a few hundred meters from the Da Nhim Hydropower Plant discharge, so when the hydropower plant releases floodwaters, the garden and house are quickly submerged in water. To ensure safety, his family was supported by local authorities to evacuate urgently.

"When fleeing the flood, the whole family only had time to bring necessary items. When the flood receded, the whole family returned, but the level four house and all the assets built over the past 40 years were swept away by the flood, Mr. Phu said.

Faced with Mr. Phu's family's situation, D'ran commune quickly went to the scene to give 40 million VND. This is an amount of money taken from the budget of D'ran commune, providing emergency support for households who lost their homes.
"There are certainly many difficulties in the coming days, but in this situation, we have to accept and try to overcome them. What warms my heart the most is the timely attention, encouragement and support of organizations, philanthropists and local authorities to help my family recover from the disaster, Mr. Phu shared.
