Khanh Hoa begins to provide support to people affected by floods

Khanh Hoa is urgently implementing spending to support people who suffered heavy losses in floods.

On the morning of November 25, information from the People's Committee of Dien Dien commune, Khanh Hoa province said that on the night of November 24, the commune implemented support payments for people who suffered heavy losses in the recent flood.

The whole commune currently has 960 households with 35,792 people. Most of them were heavily flooded. The commune has implemented support payments at village cultural houses.

In particular, for some villages that were still flooded, village officials went to their homes to pay the regime to the people.

The People's Committee of Dien Dien commune has paid support money to the people in a spirit of urgency so that the people can quickly overcome the consequences. This is also the first locality in Khanh Hoa to pay support to the people.

According to Decision 2196 of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Dien Dien commune is supported with 38.527 billion VND. Of which, support for the lives of people in households with flooded houses is 35.792 billion VND; support for students from primary school and above to buy books and school supplies is 2,735 billion VND.

Previously, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued criteria and support levels to overcome the consequences of floods. Of which, households whose houses were completely collapsed, floating, and had no place to live, were supported with 60 million VND/house to rebuild their houses. Households whose houses were partially flooded, collapsed, or severely damaged were supported with 30 million VND/house for repairs.

The province also supported 1 million VND/person for households with flooded houses and facing difficulties in life. 500,000 VND/student (from primary school and above) from these households to buy books and school supplies.

Khanh Hoa also allocated 2,000 tons of rice from national reserves to support people in flooded areas. From November 24, people should contact the People's Committee of the commune where they reside for specific instructions.

According to the report of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, by November 23, floods had killed 15 people and injured 20 people; 30,655 households with 115,384 people were affected, with water inundated from 1-3m. The initial estimated damage is about VND5,000 billion.
