On March 24, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Vietnam Social Work Day (March 25, 2016 – March 25, 2026) and honor social workers in the area.
According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Health, over the past 10 years, more than 330 officials, civil servants, employees and collaborators have directly deployed social work at the grassroots level.
The support system is strengthened with 3 public facilities and 18 non-public facilities, caring for nearly 600 subjects; and ensuring monthly allowances for more than 95,000 social protection workers in the community.
In the period 2021–2025, the province has supported more than 1,700 difficult cases with a budget of over 6.2 billion VND.
The service network continues to expand, more than 95% of medical facilities have established social work departments. Training is focused on with 94 training classes, more than 7,000 turns of officials participating.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien emphasized that this is an important milestone, affirming the role of social work in the social security system, and at the same time recognizing the silent contributions of the social work team.
However, this field still has limitations in terms of human resources, professionalism and service interconnection.
Provincial leaders request departments, branches, and localities to continue to develop human resources, build a multi-sectoral service network, putting people at the center; and at the same time strengthen forecasting, prevention and early intervention in social issues.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 1 outstanding individual; the Department of Health unexpectedly rewarded 4 typical collectives.
The Khanh Hoa Provincial Children's Fund presented gifts to support 20 students overcoming difficulties and studying well in the area, each gift worth 1 million VND.
