On May 20, news from the Border Guard of Khanh Hoa province said that they are coordinating with relevant units to deploy 37 new sea border area signs to suit the new administrative boundaries after arranging administrative units.
After the process of adjusting and arranging administrative units, the boundary marker system and management scope in coastal areas of Khanh Hoa province have changed a lot.
This poses an urgent requirement in redefining the sea border area to ensure the effectiveness of state management of security and order, and national sovereignty at sea.
Faced with the above reality, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command has chaired and coordinated with departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards in the coastal border area to organize field surveys and agree on the location of placing warning signs in the coastal border area according to the new administrative boundaries.
The implementation is carried out on the basis of Decree No. 71/2015/ND-CP of the Government on managing the activities of people and vehicles in the sea border area of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Accordingly, the forces will review and compare the new administrative boundaries; assess the current status of the existing sign system; and at the same time determine the locations that need to be newly planted, repaired or relocated to ensure synchronization, unity, compliance with legal regulations and in accordance with the actual situation of the area.
Based on the proposal of the Provincial Border Guard, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has agreed on the policy of planting a total of 37 new sea border area signs along the entire route according to the new administrative boundaries.
The survey and location selection process is carried out strictly, ensuring criteria on visibility, awareness of people and vehicles operating at sea.
The locations of the signs are also calculated to be suitable for terrain and hydrological characteristics, limiting the impact of natural disasters and coastal erosion.
According to the Border Guard of Khanh Hoa province, the completion of the sign system not only contributes to improving the efficiency of state management of national borders at sea but also creates a legal basis to propagate and guide fishermen, organizations and individuals to strictly comply with regulations when operating in the sea border area.
In the coming time, the Provincial Border Guard Command will continue to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws; guide people and vehicles to fully carry out procedures when entering and leaving the sea border area, contributing to maintaining sovereignty, ensuring security and order, and safety on the sea route.
