Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is consulting with the authorities and the people about the draft resolution of specific policies to support the relocation of small cattle and poultry slaughter facilities (CSGM) into the concentrated slaughter area in the area, the period 2025-2030 to submit to the provincial People's Council for consideration at the upcoming meeting.
According to the draft, the beneficiaries of the support are small-scale CSGM owners who are registering and committing to move livestock and poultry to the concentrated slaughterhouse area for slaughter.
Organizations and individuals who bring livestock and poultry to slaughter at the concentrated slaughterhouse in the period of 2025 - 2030 will be supported 100% in the first year and 50% for the second year for slaughter service fees and slaughter control fees.
Support 1 year of transporting cattle and poultry to concentrated slaughter areas; support to terminate small slaughter facilities; Support for small slaughter facilities has been equipped with equipment and technology from 10 to 50 million VND/facility.
The total estimated budget for policy implementation is more than 174 billion VND.
According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, there are currently 46/63 provinces and cities that have built concentrated cattle and poultry slaughter facilities with a total of 439 facilities. There are 17 provinces without concentrated cattle and poultry slaughtering facilities, including Khanh Hoa province.
In 2022, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to build concentrated slaughterhouses for livestock and poultry in the area.
In 2024, the province also approved the project to call for non -budget investment to 2025, orientation to 2030 with the goal of forming a centralized slaughter basis at 6 locations. However, up to the present time, there has not been a concentrated slaughter area in the province for many reasons.
Khanh Hoa currently has 118 small CSGMs located in the residential area. Most establishments take advantage of the area of the yard and home to slaughter.
Voters have repeatedly proposed at the provincial People's Council meetings about small CSGs in the population, greatly affecting the living environment of the people.
Assessing the impact of policies, according to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Khanh Hoa province, at present, the veterinary industry carries out slaughter control to about 33% of the actual number of cattle and poultry slaughter.
Specific policies to support the relocation of small-scale crane diseases to concentrated slaughterhouses create peace of mind for investors and increase consensus among facilities.
In particular, when transferring to the concentration, 100% of livestock and poultry put up for slaughter will be controlled, food safety will be controlled, disease pathogens in animals will be controlled, no environmental pollution will be caused in residential areas and a professional workforce will be created to ensure food safety.
