Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has issued a Plan to implement Resolution No. 37 of the Government on National marine Spatial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, focusing on developing a green, sustainable marine economy and linking national defense and security.
Accordingly, Khanh Hoa province will closely coordinate with central ministries and branches to deploy task groups on National marine spatial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050...
At the same time, Khanh Hoa province will proactively carry out groups of tasks under local authority, including: completing planning work, developing coastal infrastructure, marine conservation, coastal land use, human resource development and applying marine science and technology.
Regarding the development of the marine economy in the direction of green, circulating and low carbon, the provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over the implementation of a pilot project of high-tech sea farming in Khanh Hoa-approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 231/QD-TTg. This is considered a breakthrough in the restructuring of the fisheries industry associated with the protection of the marine environment.
Along with that, the province directed the synchronous implementation of the Plan against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU), towards sustainable fisheries development and international integration.
In the field of culture, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is assigned to conduct an inventory and prepare records to rank relics at all levels, and at the same time propose to include intangible cultural heritages of the islands in the National and International Cultural Heritage List, in order to preserve traditional values and enhance cultural identity associated with the sea.
The Provincial People's Committee also emphasized the requirement for localities with marine areas to develop the island economy in a green, circular direction, and be able to withstand climate change, while also ensuring national defense and security of islands in the new context.
This plan is the basis for Khanh Hoa to effectively implement the marine development strategy in accordance with the national orientation, taking advantage of the strengths of the islands, while proactively adapting to environmental and geopolitical challenges in the region.
