On August 19, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province held an inauguration ceremony for the Phuoc Loc bridge project, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Hoang Vinh - Director of the Traffic Project Management Board of Quang Ngai province - said that after nearly 3 years of construction, the Phuoc Loc bridge project has been completed, inspected, accepted and put into operation and use by the professional agency. Phuoc Loc Bridge crosses the Tra Khuc River, connecting the two communes of Son Tinh and Nghia Giang.
The total investment of the project is 850 billion VND, allocated from the central budget and the provincial budget. The project implementation period is from 2022 to 2025. The bridge has a total length of 3.5 km, of which the bridge section is 708 m long, the approach roads at both ends are 1.8 km long. The project is invested by the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project connects National Highway 24B (north of Tra Khuc River) with Provincial Road DT.623B (south).
After being put into use, Phuoc Loc Bridge will gradually complete the traffic network according to the approved plan; ensure connection with National Highway 24B, Provincial Road DT.623B, North - South Expressway and National Highway 1A, form a traffic network connecting the area from Son Tinh Commune to Nghia Giang Commune, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the localities where the project passes through. This is also one of the projects with architectural highlights in Quang Ngai province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province - shared: in the past time, the province has focused on mobilizing many resources to invest in the development of key transport infrastructure projects. Typically, here, in the past, only Phuoc Loc ferry terminal took people across Tra Khuc River by boat; today, there is Phuoc Loc bridge connecting the two banks of Tra Khuc River.
Currently, Quang Ngai province is fully preparing conditions to ensure the implementation and completion of the entire Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project, connecting Quang Ngai with Gia Lai according to the set schedule, and at the same time starting the construction of a new Tra Khuc 1 bridge - a vital route connecting the Northern region with the provincial center, expected to become an architectural highlight on the river side, contributing to beautifying the urban landscape - Mr. Giang emphasized.
