According to Mr. Ngo Van Trong, after the first steel arch bridge across the Tra Khuc River was completed, many names were proposed to be sent to the authorities. However, after discussion and agreement, the agencies decided to name Phuoc Loc bridge for the bridge across Tra Khuc river, connecting Nghia Giang commune and Son Tinh commune.
After researching, the authorities found that Phuoc Loc ferry terminal had long been formed on the Tra Khuc river, near the bridge area, so they agreed to name the bridge Phuoc Loc bridge.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan - Director of the Department of Construction - also said that on August 19, the province will inaugurate Phuoc Loc bridge.
Phuoc Loc Bridge has a total investment of up to 850 billion VND, the project is expected to become a new architectural symbol on the Tra Khuc River, contributing to the development of infrastructure, promoting the socio-economy.
The bridge has a total length of 3.5 km, of which the bridge section is 708 m long, the approach roads at both ends are 1.8 km long. The project is invested by the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project started construction at the end of 2022, aiming to connect National Highway 24B (north of Tra Khuc River) with Provincial Road DT.623B (south).
In addition to its role as a transport infrastructure, the bridge with modern steel arch architecture is also a landscape highlight, opening up opportunities for tourism, service development and attracting investment in the area in the coming time.
