On October 10, Hung Yen province held the inauguration ceremony of the Coastal Road Construction Investment Project. This is an inter-regional transport infrastructure project, of special significance to socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the coastal areas of the North.
The project significantly reduces travel time from Hung Yen to major economic centers such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Cat Bi airport, Lach Huyen international port, and connects with the national coastal route from Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh.
The completed infrastructure will create a great advantage in attracting investment in industrial parks and clusters, developing logistics, trade, services and coastal tourism, contributing to economic restructuring and improving people's lives.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee emphasized that investing in building synchronous and modern technical infrastructure is a major policy of the Party, State and the province, aiming to create a strategic breakthrough for rapid and sustainable growth, contributing to promoting industrialization and modernization of the locality.
According to Mr. Hung, the coastal road project inaugurated today is an important step in realizing that goal, contributing to the synchronous completion of the essential transport infrastructure system of the province and the region according to the coastal road network planning approved by the Prime Minister. The project opens up new development space, creating conditions for the formation of industrial parks, services, and tourism along the route, strongly attracting investment resources.

The project is implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), a type of BOT contract, between the People's Committee of Hung Yen province (a competent state agency) and Phuong Anh Construction and Trading Investment Company Limited (investor). The route passes through 7 communes of Hung Yen and 1 commune of Ninh Binh, with a total length of 34.42 km, a land use area of about 103 hectares, a scale of a level III plain road, with a total investment of VND4,800 billion.
During the implementation process, the project encountered many difficulties due to complex geological and hydrological conditions, large construction volume with more than 3 million m3 of rock and soil, construction of 12 bridges on the main route (total length of 3,800 m), 8 level crossings and many other auxiliary works. However, the Management Board of Construction Investment Project No. 2 and investors and contractors have closely coordinated, mobilizing maximum equipment and human resources, constructing "3 shifts", ensuring safety, progress, technical and aesthetic aspects.
The completion and putting into use of the coastal road, along with key transport projects to be implemented such as CT.08 expressway, the road connecting the heritage along the Red River, Ring Road 4, Tan Phuc - Vong Phan, Thai Binh route - Pho Hien, Lao Cai - Hai Phong railway, the road to Diem Dien and Con Vanh ports... will form a network connecting the province's development centers with major dynamic areas such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh.
