According to a report by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment, floods on the Cau and Ca Lo rivers have caused flooding for nearly 3,300 households (more than 10,500 people). The authorities have evacuated nearly 8,500 people, mainly in Trung Gia, Thu Lam, Tien Thang, and Da Phuc communes.
Currently, the water level of major rivers passing through the area such as the Da River, Red River, and Duong River is below alert level I, but is still at a high level. Meanwhile, the Tich and Bui rivers are above alert level II; the Day rivers are above alert level I; while the Nhue and My Ha rivers are below alert level I.
Most of the water levels in irrigation reservoirs in Hanoi such as Suoi Hai, Dong Quan, Tan Xa, Xuan Khanh, Quan Son, Van Son, Keo Ca reservoirs... are still high, exceeding the overflow threshold (free overflow).
Since the afternoon of October 9, Hanoi's irrigation companies have operated 131 stations with 506 water pumping machines. The People's Committees of communes and wards have mobilized more than 11,500 people, 71 vehicles and more than 120,000 units of materials and tools to respond to natural disasters.
