On November 22, Binh Minh Ward Police received a report from people about a young man suspected of stealing in the K21 bridge area, in Tan Phuoc neighborhood.
Captain Nguyen Nhat Truong and Le Van Phu, a security force at the grassroots level, went to the scene to verify and discovered Nguyen Anh Cuong (30 years old, residing in Ninh Phuc quarter, Ninh Thanh ward) moving from K21 bridge to K18 bridge. When the police approached to invite him to the headquarters for questioning, Cuong did not comply and suddenly used a knife to attack him.
The incident injured Captain Nguyen Nhat Truong and Mr. Le Van Phu. At this time, Mr. Le Nguyen Nhat Truong (38 years old, Head of Tan Phuoc Quarter) supported the working group that was also attacked by the subject, causing injuries to the back and face. After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene.
At 5:20 p.m. the same day, Binh Minh Ward Police in coordination with Ninh Thanh Ward Police controlled and arrested Cuong at his private house in Ninh Phuc Quarter. The suspect is currently being detained for investigation of his acts of resisting law enforcement officers.
On the same afternoon, Colonel Le Van Thuan, Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, and the working delegation visited, encouraged and presented 2 million VND to three individuals participating in the arrest of the subject. The People's Committee of Binh Minh Ward also awarded certificates of merit to Captain Nguyen Nhat Truong, Mr. Le Van Phu and Mr. Le Nguyen Nhat Truong for their brave achievements.
