On the afternoon of November 25, Inspection Team No. 7, led by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, worked with localities on the progress of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project.
According to reports from investors, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project is expected to open to technical traffic and the 70.1 km route on December 19, 2025.
Technical traffic is open to 29.2 km of the expressway, including: 14.7 km of the old overpass over Thu Duc City; 5 km through Dong Nai province; 3.1 km through the old Binh Duong province and 6.4 km through Tay Ninh province.
The 37.1 km route includes: 32.6 km through the former Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh districts and 4.5 km through the former Binh Duong province.
2.4 km of Tan Van intersection and 1.32 km of Binh Chuan intersection in Binh Duong province were still under construction.
By April 30, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 will open 24.2 km of highways and 45.9 km of technical traffic.
By June 30, 2026, the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project will be completed and opened to traffic.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 is a national strategic project, of great significance to the key economic region in the South.
When completed, the project will contribute to completing the goal of 3,000 km of expressway according to the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

Ministries, branches and localities need to continue urging site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure at the remaining 7 locations before December 5, ensuring the supply of construction materials, increasing human resources and equipment to speed up progress.
Localities must closely monitor weather developments, direct investors and contractors to mobilize maximum forces and means to speed up construction. In case of delay due to objective reasons, the Prime Minister must be reported and take full responsibility, avoiding wasting resources.
"Everyone must make efforts for the goal of basically completing the route by the end of 2025, striving so that by 2026, people can travel on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3" - Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh directed.

The Ring Road 3 route is more than 90 km long, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh after the merger. Previously, the project completed the My Phuoc - Tan Van section (15.3 km) and the section from DT.25B (Dong Nai) to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (including Nhon Trach Bridge) to be put into operation from August 2025.
The remaining part of the more than 70 km long has a total investment of nearly VND 75,400 billion, with a scale of 6 - 8 lanes being implemented by localities. In phase 1, 4 lanes and a parallel road system (not continuous) will be built in advance.
When completed, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 will not only solve the need for traffic connectivity, reducing pressure on the inner city area, but also open up an urban - industrial development corridor, creating growth momentum for the entire key economic region in the South.
