On January 29, the Chairman of Duc Trong Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) decided to commend 3 students of Duc Trong Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School for their courageous actions, promptly preventing the risk of traffic accidents and protecting people's property.
The three students who were commended include: Lieng Hot Gia Hung, Bon Yo Jan Sam and K'Liem, all students of class 8A1, Duc Trong Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School.
According to the school, at about 4:35 pm on January 19, the 3 students were assigned by the head teacher of the Team to go outside the school grounds to perform labor duties.
During the movement, the children discovered a truck with license plate 49C-104.91 of Dang Gia distributor, parked at No. 39 Tran Khac Chung street (village 21, Duc Trong commune) losing its brakes, slowly drifting down a slope, posing a risk of accident.
Immediately, the group of students shouted to the car owner, and quickly used bricks to block the wheels, preventing the car from continuing to drift down the slope. Thereby avoiding accidents for pedestrians and protecting property for people.
Immediately after that, the driver managed to arrive and drive the truck to a safe place. The actions of the children showed courage, ingenuity, good situation handling skills and sense of responsibility to the community.
