Son La - Local authorities have just issued a document requesting the dismantling of the registration center that has expired land lease for nearly 6 years, as reflected by Lao Dong Newspaper.

On January 28, according to PV's source, To Hieu Ward People's Committee issued a notice requesting Son La Waterway Mechanical Vehicle Registration Joint Stock Company to dismantle and relocate all assets and works on land at No. 95 Nguyen Luong Bang Street (group 8 Quyet Thang, To Hieu Ward).

According to To Hieu Ward People's Committee, the above-mentioned land area has not been extended for use since 2022. The request for businesses to relocate assets is to ensure the progress of the 7-11 market expansion project, expected to be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2026. The deadline for completing the dismantling and relocation of all assets is set before October 1, 2026.

In case the above deadline is exceeded and Son La Marine Mechanical Vehicle Registration Joint Stock Company does not comply, the locality will handle it according to current regulations.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had a series of articles reflecting the violations of vehicle registration centers in Son La.

Motor Vehicle Registration Center 26.02D, managed by Son La Waterway Motor Vehicle Registration Joint Stock Company, expired its land lease contract from 2020.

This center is located in To Hieu ward, on a land area of about 2,000m2, belonging to a densely populated residential area.

Not only center 26.02D, a series of other violations at vehicle registration centers in Son La province have also been pointed out but have not been thoroughly handled.

According to a report by Son La Provincial People's Committee, two large vehicle registration centers in this locality have been operating for a long time even though they have not been licensed for traffic connection, namely Vehicle Registration Center 26.01D in Chieng Sinh ward and Motor Vehicle Registration Branch 26.03D in Van Ho commune.

Both of these units are managed by Son La Transport Vehicle Inspection Joint Stock Company.

Son La Provincial People's Committee has organized a working session with registration units to review, clarify existing issues and agree on handling plans according to regulations.

For Vehicle Registration Center 26.01D, located in Chieng Sinh ward, the Provincial People's Committee requires this unit to complete all remaining procedures, including traffic connection, investment procedures and other operating conditions before the end of the first quarter of 2026.

Similarly, Motor Vehicle Registration Branch 26.03D in Van Ho commune is required to complete all procedures before the end of the second quarter of 2026.

If the above deadlines expire and the units do not complete all procedures according to regulations, Son La Provincial People's Committee will stop the operation of vehicle registration centers, and will not continue to consider or extend them.
