On May 14, the Economic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police said that it had coordinated with functional agencies to receive 1 red-faced monkey individual voluntarily handed over by people for handling according to regulations.
Previously, through grasping the situation in the area, functional forces discovered that Mr. Le Dinh Phung (born 1962, residing in Quy Nhon ward) raised a red-faced monkey at his private house.
According to Mr. Phung, this monkey got lost in the garden area behind the house from around 2014, so it has been cared for and raised by the family until now.
During the working process, police officers propagated and disseminated legal regulations on managing and protecting wild animals. After being explained and mobilized, Mr. Phung voluntarily handed over the monkey to functional agencies.
According to Gia Lai Provincial Police, the voluntary handover of wildlife by people shows a sense of law compliance, and at the same time contributes to improving the effectiveness of biodiversity conservation and protection of rare and precious wildlife species in the area.
