On May 30, Truong Phu Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that functional forces had just received and handed over a yellow monkey lost in the wild to release back to a suitable environment.
Previously, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien (born in 1987, residing in Phu Hoa village, Truong Phu commune) discovered a yellow monkey weighing about 5kg appearing in the Phu Hoa village area.
After discovering the incident, Ms. Lien proactively reported it to the authorities for support in handling it according to regulations.
Upon receiving the information, representatives of Truong Phu Commune People's Committee, Truong Phu Commune Police and Le Thuy Forest Protection Department coordinated to receive and temporarily care for the above-mentioned golden monkey individual.
After that, functional forces brought the golden monkey to the Khe Cau Protection Station area, under the Management Board of Dong Chau - Khe Nuoc Trong Nature Reserve, Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province, to release it back to its natural environment.
Truong Phu Commune Police praised Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien's sense of responsibility in protecting wildlife, and promptly notified functional agencies to handle it in accordance with regulations.
Functional agencies recommend that when detecting wild animals appearing in the wild or in residential areas, people should immediately report to local authorities, police forces or forest rangers for guidance and appropriate handling.
People should absolutely not arbitrarily raise, buy, sell or illegally hunt wild animals.
