On the morning of August 19, the Border Guard Command of Hue City said that on the evening of August 18, Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station coordinated with forces to organize groundwater fire fighting in Vinh Thanh Dong village, Phu Vinh commune.
Previously, at about 6 pm on August 18, the unit received a report from people about a fire occurring in the forest area after acacia harvesting, in Vinh Thanh Dong village. This area is managed by Phu Vinh Commune People's Committee.
Vinh Xuan Border Guard Station then sent 10 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with local authorities, Nam Song Huong Forest Protection Department, military forces, commune police and people to deploy plans to control the fire.
By about 7:30 PM on the same day, the fire was basically extinguished. According to initial statistics, the burned area is about 1,000m2.
The cause of the fire is being verified and clarified by functional agencies.
