On April 28, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province coordinated with T&T Group Joint Stock Company to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of auxiliary work and launch the project to upgrade and embellish historical relics of the sacrifices of 16 young volunteers at II Long Dai ferry. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The project has a total estimated cost of about 20 billion VND. The main items include: building a stele house with an area of 2,800m2; building a modern inauguration house, 2 rows of waiting houses serving the flower lantern release ceremony, a flower lantern release wharf and a river boat tourist wharf to visit prominent relics of Nam Quang Binh.
The project also repaired degraded items, built monuments and statues depicting the bravery spirit and the aspiration for peace of the youth volunteer force in the past.
The project aims to fulfill the wishes of the people and relatives of 16 Youth Volunteers of Thai Binh province C130s, creating a solemn and sustainable place of worship, spreading moral values and historical traditions.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Secretary Le Ngoc Quang expressed his deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs and directed the relevant units to implement the project in accordance with the goals and progress; At the same time, promoting propaganda about the historical and humanistic significance of the project, contributing to the revolutionary tradition for the younger generation.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 21 gifts, worth a total of 42 million VND, to veterans, youth volunteers and historical witnesses.
