Lao Dong's actual records show that Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen provinces are urgently completing procedures to prepare for investment in the Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway project.
In which, compensation and site clearance work is accelerated to soon put the project into implementation.
According to research, it belongs to the list of nationally important projects, invested in the form of public investment with a preliminary total investment of nearly 30,000 billion VND.

The road is about 82.5km long, designed with a scale of 4 lanes, maximum speed of 80km/h, 22m wide roadbed and arranged with continuous emergency stop lanes.
The starting point connects to the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway (Thai Nguyen province), the ending point is in Tan Giang ward (Cao Bang province).
On the entire route, it is expected to build 3 road tunnels and 10 intersections connecting with the center of Cao Bang province, provincial road 209 and Ho Chi Minh road.
To serve the project implementation, on June 11, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1146/QD-UBND assigning the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to be the investor of Component Project 2 on compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance in the province.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dam Duc Van - Deputy Director of Cao Bang Provincial Department of Construction - said that the compensation, site clearance and resettlement project has a total investment of more than 400 billion VND.
Currently, relevant units are coordinating to complete the inventory dossier, as a basis for implementing the next steps. The expressway construction project will be started at the end of December 2026.
According to leaders of Cao Bang province, this is a transportation project of particular importance to the socio-economic development of the locality as well as the midland and mountainous areas of the North.
When completed, the expressway will contribute to removing bottlenecks in transport infrastructure, expanding development space, creating motivation to promote border gate economy, trade and attract investment.
Over the past time, specialized agencies of Bac Kan and Cao Bang provinces have continuously coordinated and organized many working sessions to accelerate the project development progress.
Up to now, the survey, geological exploration and route identification work has basically been completed.

Local people expect the expressway to be deployed soon to shorten travel time between Cao Bang and Hanoi.
Ms. Le Thi Hop (Tan Giang ward, Cao Bang province) said that currently most vehicles from Cao Bang to Hanoi still choose National Highway 3 through Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen due to low costs.
However, this road has many steep passes, continuous curves and frequent fog, posing a risk of traffic unsafety.
Meanwhile, driver Tran Van Vinh, driving a passenger car on the Cao Bang - Hanoi route, expressed his desire for the project to be started soon.
The expressway will have a wide cross-section, a straighter route direction, reducing many winding mountain passes, helping to make vehicle control safer and more convenient.
When the expressway connects to the Thai Nguyen - Hanoi expressway, travel will be faster, and the traffic volume to Cao Bang is also expected to increase significantly," Mr. Vinh shared.
