On September 9, at the meeting with voters after the first and second sessions of the 10th term City People's Council, term 2021-2026 in Ngu Hanh Son ward, voters raised many opinions, focusing on social security, environment, etc.
However, according to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, the issues that voters are interested in can be completely resolved immediately at the ward level, instead of waiting until the voter contact period to make recommendations.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested that residential groups in Ngu Hanh Son Ward urgently establish groups on social platforms to closely grasp the situation at the grassroots level, promptly record the opinions and recommendations of the people. This is a necessary solution in the context of the city implementing a 2-level urban government model, the workload at the grassroots level has increased significantly, while the staff is streamlined.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said that these groups must truly come into operation, becoming an effective communication channel between the people and the government. "If we set up a group without monitoring or handling it, it would be the same. Establishing without heart will not be possible," Ms. Thi emphasized.
At the same time, request the ward leaders to directly monitor and handle information in groups, avoid formal situations, abandon or let problems persist.
According to Ms. Thi, the city has currently decentralized many tasks to communes and wards, with about 1,300 jobs, ranging from urban management, construction order to social security and the environment. However, the number of grassroots staff is limited, so the application of information technology and the establishment of online connection groups will help synthesize opinions quickly, classify specifically and assign tasks promptly to each functional department. At the same time, the handling results will also be updated transparently, creating conditions for people to monitor.
Ms. Thi believes that grasping and handling them right from the grassroots level not only solves practical problems in people's lives but also reduces pressure on voter contact periods. In fact, many people's petitions are just very small, very simple things, but because they are not resolved promptly at the ward and commune level, we have to wait until they are presented to voters. This caused outrage among the people.
