The People's Council of Da Nang City said it will hold a mid-term meeting on June 23, 24, however, one of the important contents is to urgently prepare for the first session, scheduled to take place on July 1, 2025 for the new Da Nang City People's Council - after merging with Quang Nam province. This is a session of special significance, marking the beginning of a new government model after the merger, laying the foundation for the city's development in the coming period.
At the preparation session, the City People's Committee submitted 29/32 contents, notably two specific contents of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang. The People's Council will consider and approve regulations on policies for developing high-quality human resources for the public sector and criteria and norms related to ordering domestic solid waste treatment.
In addition, the City People's Committee also proposed to add 4 other urgent contents, including: adjusting the housing development program for the period 2021-2030; issuing a list of land plots for bidding for investment projects using land; regulating support policies for relocating households living in adjacent houses belonging to public assets; and adding the aid capital estimate to the budget in 2025.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh affirmed that he will accept the comments and direct the resolution of outstanding issues. In particular, he emphasized social security policies, proposed reviewing existing policies of Da Nang and Quang Nam in the past, prioritizing the application of regulations that are more beneficial to people throughout the new city.
Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City - Ngo Xuan Thang has requested the City People's Committee to urgently complete the documents of the draft resolutions to ensure quality and progress. He also directed the People's Committee to promptly submit a project to establish departments and branches after the arrangement and implementation of reviewing and consolidating the system of legal documents of the two old localities. The goal is to unify a common, strict legal framework, creating favorable conditions for specific policies and social security to be effectively applied right from the first session, for the common development of the new Da Nang city. Regarding the issue of land price adjustment, the Standing Committee of the People's Council agreed that this is the authority of the People's Committee and does not need to be submitted at the meeting.
