Do not increase the price of construction materials after floods in Gia Lai

THANH TUẤN |

Gia Lai - Construction materials businesses signed a commitment not to hoard goods or increase prices after floods.

On November 27, Mr. Le Hong Ha - Head of the Gia Lai Province Market Management Department said that immediately after the water receded, the unit directed the market management teams to strengthen inspection and control of construction material production and trading activities.

The goal is to prevent speculative behavior and unreasonably raise prices at a time when the demand for home repair is increasing.

During the rainy season, the Market Management force has organized propaganda, mobilization and signed commitments with organizations and individuals trading in essential goods, requiring strict implementation of regulations on price listing and selling at the correct listed price.

After the flood, establishments are not allowed to take advantage of the situation to speculate, hoard goods, sell counterfeit goods, poor quality goods or push up prices abnormally.

Mr. Ha added that at this time, many consumer goods and construction materials serving the recovery of natural disaster consequences have strong demand such as: food, food, drinking water, gasoline, medicine, medical supplies, roofing, cement, bricks, steel, sand, stone, soil, etc.

The Market Management Department continues to closely monitor the supply-demand developments, inspect the implementation of price listing and selling at the right price at stores, traditional markets, supermarkets, distributors and construction materials businesses, ensure a stable market and provide maximum support for people to stabilize their lives after natural disasters.

The People's Committee of Gia Lai province has also decided to allocate 2,000 tons of rice from national reserves to promptly support thousands of households affected by natural disasters and historic floods in recent days.
